UMich Ann Arbor Town Hall with Candidate for governor Abdul El-Sayed

  • UMich Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy 735 South State Street Ann Arbor, MI, 48104 United States (map)

The 2018 gubernatorial election is fast approaching and we are honored to once again host Candidate for Governor Abdul El-Sayed! A Rhodes Scholar and University of Michigan alum, El-Sayed previously served as the Director of Detroit's Health Department. Charged with rebuilding the Department after privitazation, he was responsible for the health and safety of over 670,000 Detroiters. Focusing on innovation and environmental justice -- working to make sure DPS has safe water, addressing infant mortality by supporting pregnant women, providing glasses to schoolchildren, and fighting to reduce pollution from corporations and invest in parks -- the Detroit Health Department has experienced a rapid turn-around.

Join College Democrats for our town hall style event as we hear from El-Sayed and his campaign about the issues he is passionate about, and why he is running for Governor. Come prepared with your questions -- we can't wait to see you there!
